Works are progressing well on the new three-storey Hub at Burslem campus – designed to rehouse student services and staff from the existing campus building. This is a key development that will create an inspiring space for students and future-proof the campus. The hub will feature additional classrooms, advanced science laboratories, preparation rooms, large boardroom and training facilities. The project also includes new car parking and landscaping, enhancing the overall experience for students, staff, and visitors.

Social Value:

To date on the project we have employed two local individuals in the roles of site cleaner and gateman. We have utilised a local concrete supplier and we have employed local contractors for the steel erection.

We have carried out toolbox talks with construction trainees within the college and we are now intending to involve the college brickwork students with some valuable site experience as we look to commence the masonry package.

Works Completed – In Timelapse Video:

Installation of crane mat and stone trim for MEWP access, steel erection, installation of pre-cast concrete stairs and pre-cast concrete lift shaft, safety netting, scaffold handrailing and safety netting ready for commencement of the precast hollow core plank package.
