This impressive new gated community is surrounded by picturesque, sprawling countryside. Once a working farm – Manor Farm will now offer residents the chance to live on the doorstep of local amenities, but in a tranquil semi-rural setting.
The development, completed in 2022, will be a welcome addition to the local property market in Heswall and Barnston – with these characterful homes offering high-specification accommodation that will appeal to buyers of all age ranges.

The competitive tender process to undertake this project was rigorous.. The development site, situated in a semi-rural setting in Barnston, posed several challenges. Being within a conservation area, it was important to ensure that the new development remained in harmony with the existing character of the region. The project aimed to breathe new life into the disused farm while preserving and repurposing as much of the original materials as possible.
One of the standout features of this project was the emphasis on restoration and sympathetic design. Great care was taken to restore features that aligned with the area’s character. A prime example of this approach was the meticulous restoration and recycling of sandstone masonry, returning it to its former glory. This not only preserved the historical essence of the site but also showcased a commitment to sustainability and conservation.
The ten homes in this development exhibit a striking diversity in architectural styles. The project includes barn conversions seamlessly blended with contemporary design elements. Unique re-modelled, redesigned, and new build homes were introduced, each boasting beautiful character features. This blend of old and new added to the charm and uniqueness of each residence, appealing to a wide range of potential homeowners.
