Each of these individual refurbishment and renovation projects below demonstrate a fusion of expertise, innovation, and dedication.

The primary challenge of these multi-faceted projects was ensuring precision, accuracy, and minimal disruption while executing the renovations within the confines of the busy campus.
All works had to be completed on a tight time scale and of course within a strict budget.
Materials Innovation Factory (MIF):
Krol Corlett were privileged to be awarded the scheme on award-winning MIF, spanning 11,600m². Our expertise ensured the refurbishment of office and laboratory space was flawless in execution. This unique, flexible space, houses cutting-edge technology, and required top-notch construction delivered with meticulous attention to detail.
The unique facilities, purpose-built for innovation as ever, adhered to tight schedules and met all budgets set.

Oliver Lodge:
Our specialist education team extended and refurbished while creating New Optics Labs. Comprehensive upgrades included new ceilings, floors, partition walls, and blackout blinds, created an ideal setting for ground-breaking research, accommodating advanced equipment & learning. Consultation with the University Estates team throughout was as ever paramount to a smooth completion.

The Chadwick Building:
This building received a full internal and external refurbishment, including repainting canopies and new roofing, sound-blocking screens, improved lighting, mesh cladding, and innovative lightweight polystyrene ramps.
Value: 900k work
The Mathematical & Science Building:
This simultaneously saw vital upgrades, including a new roof, edge protection, and enhanced rainwater systems, ensuring structural integrity and safety for research.
Our team played a pivotal role in crafting the outdoor areas as well. Through thoughtful landscaping, these communal spaces were transformed into collaborative and serene environments. An engaging art installation featuring umbrellas added an aesthetic touch, enriching the ambiance and fostering creativity.
The revitalised research facilities, laboratories, buildings and public spaces stand as a testament to this joint endeavour.
