Manor Farm Barnston
Project Scope
In the picturesque village of Barnston, nestled within a conservation area, a remarkable transformation took place.
What was once a disused working farm has now been reborn as a high-end bespoke development of ten truly unique homes.
This case study sheds light on the journey in bringing this ambitious project to life.
Challenges
The competitive tender process for this project was rigorous, with the semi-rural Barnston site presenting notable challenges. Located within a conservation area, the development needed to remain in harmony with the region’s character while breathing new life into a disused farm.
A focus on restoration and sympathetic design guided the work, including the careful recycling of sandstone masonry to preserve the site’s historic essence while promoting sustainability. The result is a collection of ten diverse homes—ranging from barn conversions to contemporary new builds—that blend old and new, offering distinctive character and broad appeal.
Community
This project was not merely about constructing homes; it was about creating a thriving community.
Once completed, the development was transformed into an impressive gated community. The homes are surrounded by picturesque, sprawling countryside, providing a serene and idyllic living environment.
This transformation has not only revitalized the site but also brought a sense of community to the area.
