At Flakefleet Primary School in Fleetwood, Lancashire, we embarked on a crucial renovation project in close collaboration with Lancashire County Council. This multi-phase initiative addressed critical needs within the school while also enhancing community amenities. Our commitment to minimising disruption to education was at the forefront of this undertaking.
The renovation went beyond cosmetics involving the replacement of all roof coverings. The real challenge was ensuring that the school remained operational throughout the process, with no disruption to children’s education. To accomplish this, we constructed temporary classrooms, allowing students to continue their studies while refurbishments proceeded.
Enriching the Wider Community
At Flakefleet Primary School, our commitment extended beyond the school walls. We completed a comprehensive fit-out for a brand-new community café, named STRIVE, situated on the school premises. STRIVE isn’t just a café; it’s a hub for family activities, private meetings, and showcasing the children’s artwork. Here, the community can enjoy quality coffee and delicious food, creating a vibrant space that benefits both students and the broader neighbourhood.
Impact
Our partnership with Flakefleet Primary School and Lancashire County Council has yielded transformative results. From preserving the continuity of education during renovations to creating a thriving community hub, this project stands as a testament to our dedication to education and community engagement. Together, we are building a brighter future.

“They are the best construction firm I have worked with. Not only are they hard working, conscientious and diligent – but they are all very friendly and helpful to work with – I wish everyone was this good. They always communicate well, are flexible when needed and accommodating, too”
