Phase 2:
Internal walls were removed and reconfigured to suit the new layout, with new partitions, door openings, ceilings, and finishes constructed. Joinery, furniture, fixtures, and MEP systems were upgraded throughout to align with the revised design and services.
Phase 3:
Further layout alterations, including the creation of two exam rooms, one quiet room, and one scan room in the former discharge area, complete with power, data, ventilation, and hand wash facilities. An existing office was converted into a doctor’s office, with minor alterations made to the staff break area and another doctor’s office under the stairs.
Flooring and damaged ceilings were replaced, decoration was refreshed where necessary, and the ventilation system was upgraded. Furniture, fittings, and specialist equipment such as drug cabinets were also installed.
Phase 5:
Asbestos refurbishment survey across all areas with intrusive works, with removal undertaken in line with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and subject to Trust approval. Enabling works for RAAC removal included adaptations to form an outpatient clinic, blood room, and an extension to create a new patient discharge lounge.
The former discharge lounge was also converted into clinic and consulting rooms, along with a Gynaecology assessment ward.
