Challenges
The primary challenge of this project revolved around the need to accommodate students throughout the renovation. With most units occupied, ensuring a conducive living and studying environment was paramount.
Krol Corlett strategically addressed this challenge by phasing the project. At any given time, only two student blocks were vacant, minimising disruption for the residents. As one phase concluded, students seamlessly transitioned into refurbished accommodations, allowing the next phase to begin.
Scope of Work
Each property underwent a comprehensive overhaul, including a redesign of the internal layout, installation of new building services, and updates to all kitchens and bathrooms.
All flooring and finishes received an upgrade to meet modern standards.
Beyond the interiors, Krol Corlett’s expertise extended to external improvements, encompassing path and hard landscaping repairs, as well as enhancements to soft landscaping.

The project, perfectly aligned with the start of the new academic year. Success was the result of seamless collaboration with the client’s nominated supply chain partners and close coordination among the Krol Corlett team, the client, and the residents.
