Project Scope
The project involves the refurbishment, alteration and extension of an existing residential property to create supported accommodation, working alongside Shelby.
Works include structural alterations, accessibility upgrades and the construction of a new annex following the demolition of an existing outbuilding. The scheme also includes associated external works to complete the development.
The development will transform the existing property into a safe, accessible and suitable living environment, designed to support One Fylde’s person-centred approach to accommodation and care, while meeting the needs of the individuals it serves.
“One Fylde is proud to partner with Krol Corlett to refurbish, adapt and extend an existing property that reflects our values and meets the needs of the people we support. Together, we aim to work openly and collaboratively, building trust and teamwork to create a safe, high-quality home where people can live their best life possible.”
Challenges
Working within an existing residential property presents several challenges, with the project requiring careful coordination of structural alterations, accessibility improvements and the construction of the new annex.
The demolition of the existing outbuilding and subsequent construction works also require careful planning and sequencing to ensure the project progresses safely and efficiently throughout the 30-week programme.
Throughout the works, the team will maintain a strong focus on quality, health and safety, and the minimisation of disruption, ensuring the successful delivery of a high-quality, accessible environment tailored to the needs of One Fylde and the individuals it supports.
“We’re delighted to have been awarded this scheme and to be working in partnership with One Fylde to deliver accommodation that will make a meaningful difference to people’s lives. The project reflects the importance of creating safe, accessible and high-quality living environments that promote independence, dignity and wellbeing.
Our team looks forward to bringing its expertise in refurbishment, alteration and new-build construction to the scheme, carefully transforming the existing property to meet the needs of those who will call it home. We’re proud to be supporting One Fylde’s person-centred approach and to be delivering a project that will have a lasting, positive impact on the individuals it supports and the wider community.”
