Krol Corlett has began works on the £4m project at the 12 Quays Campus of Wirral Met College which will consist of a new Teaching Block and Vehicle Workshop and is set to go on for the next 38 weeks whilst the wider campus remains operational.

“It’s a historic dockland site which throws up its own quirks. There are utilities buried under old tram lines that we need to accommodate and we’ll be building a specialised tent to shield our work from the elements which has to withstand the high winds blowing down the East Float.”

Building The Future

The project will strengthen the college’s technical training offer, providing a fully equipped space where learners can gain the practical, hands-on experience that employers value.

“What makes this development particularly exciting is that Wirral Met apprentices will play an active role in the construction, gaining invaluable real-world experience while helping to shape the very future of their College.”

“This project represents a significant investment in our students’ future and demonstrates our commitment to providing first-class facilities across the College. This new teaching block will create an environment where students can develop these essential skills.”

Gill Banks – Principal and CEO, Wirral Met College

“I completed my joinery apprenticeship at Wirral Met and my brother, Sam, is currently doing likewise, so it’s an article of faith that I would support the college’s ambitions to involve students.”

Krol Corlett & Education

RAY 5818

Education is one of Krol Corlett’s most stronghold sectors in which we aim to improve and develop educational environments that will support in inspiring and training the next generation.

As well as getting our existing apprentices involved with the project, it will be fantastic for us to get the students and apprentices of Wirral Met College involved in the project, to provide them with the hands on experience that they will need in their future careers.
