Supporting the Future of Surgical Care
Warrington Hospital is set to welcome a new robotic-enabled theatre, bringing advanced treatment to patients across the town and the wider community.
Krol Corlett is delivering the project for North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust. It will transform the existing practice theatre into a specialist clinical environment with modern medical technology, supporting the hospital’s evolving needs.
Transforming Theatre 7
The works include upgrades to mechanical, electrical and plumbing services, new ventilation systems, replacement internal finishes and ceilings, specialist theatre lighting and a new roof-mounted air handling unit.
Structural steelwork and roof penetrations are also being installed to accommodate the new services and equipment.
“We are very mindful of the importance of this project to the patients and clinical teams who will use the new theatre. As with our other live NHS projects, careful planning and coordination are essential to working safely alongside live clinical areas.
“Our team has extensive experience delivering projects within operational hospitals, and we are proud to bring that experience to something of this importance.
“We have a clear focus on delivering a facility of the highest standard for North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust.”
Working around a Live Hospital
The refurbishment is being delivered within the live hospital environment, immediately alongside operational theatres.
Careful planning and coordination are required throughout the works to minimise disruption to patients, staff and the hospital’s vital services.
Making a Lasting Difference
Behind the construction work are the patients, clinical teams and families who will use the facility every day.
By creating a better environment for those who deliver and receive care, the project will support the NHS and the wider community it serves.
