Krol Corlett welcomed Prince William to the Tiber Community Project!

Prince William’s Tour of the Tiber Community Project

Krol Corlett was honoured to welcome His Royal Highness, Prince William, to our Tiber Project in Liverpool 8 yesterday. The Royal visit marked a significant milestone for this inspiring 12 month community initiative, which is dedicated to empowering young people and creating lasting opportunities in one of Liverpool’s most vibrant and diverse neighbourhoods.

Prince William toured the newly built £3.5m facility, meeting our core site team along with members of the Tiber Young People’s Steering Group (TYPSG) – a team of local young people aged 14 to 18 who played a key role in shaping the project. He listened as they shared their experiences of securing funding, contributing to the design, and the construction of the facility take shape. The young leaders also spoke about the personal impact of being involved, highlighting how the project had helped them develop leadership skills, confidence, and a strong connection to their community.

A Visit to the Football Centre & a Special Encounter

After touring the site, Prince William joined in with game of football on the adjoining pitches. There, he saw firsthand how the facility is providing a safe and inspiring space for young people to develop both on and off the pitch.

Adding to the excitement of the day, Prince William also chatted with special guest Liverpool FC legend Sir Kenny Dalglish, a beloved figure in the city. Their meeting underscored the power of sport in uniting communities and shaping young lives.

Before leaving, Prince William engaged with local community members, learning about the positive impact Tiber Project is having on the wider Toxteth area.

A Proud Moment for Krol Corlett

“All the team at Krol Corlett have been incredibly proud to be part of such a transformative project. Seeing the young people’s enthusiasm, dedication, and playing our part in the positive regeneration, then welcoming Prince William to witness it firsthand, was an inspiring and unforgettable moment for everyone”

We look forward to continuing our work with Tiber, Condy Lofthouse, and the wider community, ensuring that this project continues to empower and inspire future generations.

Transforming Toxteth Through Investment

The Tiber Project has been made possible through funding from the Youth Investment Fund (YIF) – a government initiative aimed at creating, expanding, and improving youth facilities in some of the country’s most socially and economically deprived areas.

This investment is helping to create a brighter future for Toxteth’s young people providing over 1200 young people per week access to opportunities, essential skills, some job opportunities and a supportive environment.
