A Library Transformed
Krol Corlett Construction is proud to have contributed to the transformation of Carlisle Library, helping to create a welcoming space.
Funded by the Carlisle Town Deal and Cumberland Council, the project marks a new chapter for one of the city’s most valued community spaces.
Our team’s work on the project was also honoured at the National Site Awards 2026, earning a Considerate Constructors Scheme award.
Krol Corlett Joins the Celebrations
Team KC joined guests and members of the local community at the official opening of Carlisle Library, celebrating the successful completion of the refurbishment project.
The event included the unveiling of the new M.W. Craven Room, named in honour of Carlisle-born bestselling author and Library Ambassador Mike Craven, who spoke about the importance of libraries, reading and creativity.
From speeches to guided tours, it was brilliant to see the library full of people exploring the new spaces our team has created.
Supporting Local Communities
Krol Corlett delivered the mechanical and electrical (M&E) design, working collaboratively with the wider design team and contractors to support effective coordination and smooth delivery on site.
Beyond the refurbishment itself, the project represents an investment in Carlisle’s social and cultural future.
We are proud to have contributed to this important community asset, and to a project that places local people at the heart of its purpose.
